The first of many jewellery parties
We had our first jewellery party today! Wehey!
A short while ago, I announced to friends and anybody who would listen, that we were now able to provide a jewellery party service. Luckily, a very lovely lady decided to take me up on this and was happy to host one of our parties at her home.
We arranged a date and time to suit her and went over a few questions and it was all quite straight forward.
I was excited but at the same time worried: would I remember to bring everything I needed, how much stock should I take, which pieces would be best and most desirable, how much money should I take for change...
I shouldn't have worried so much, it all went very smoothly and was great fun.
If you sell jewellery and are looking to organise your own jewellery party, here are a few tips:
Good luck with your own jewellery parties and feel free to let me know of your experiences in the comments section.

If you sell jewellery and are looking to organise your own jewellery party, here are a few tips:
- Take as much stock as you can, the wider the selection the better.
- Take a mirror so that your customers can try on your items and see how they suit them.
- Let your customers handle and touch the items, let them try them on, your customers will have more fun and relax without feeling pressured. This is what makes jewellery parties fun, trying out different styles and choosing the items that 'feel' right and are comfortable to wear.
- Remember to take some small change and notes. It will make it easier for you if you price your items rounded up to whole pounds, for example, charge £10 instead of £9.99. If you sell a lot of pieces, this will really be a lot easier and quicker for you. The last thing you want is to run out of change.
- Reward your hostess. The person hosting the party at their house are doing a great job and the happier they are, the better your party will be. So don't hesitate in returning the favour by offering generous rewards or incentives.
- There is no need to play games. Most people will tell you that they are not keen on party games and you will find that your guests will be quite happy to chat amongst themselves or to ask questions about your items. However, it is a good idea to offer a raffle, especially if you offer free raffle ticket to everybody who attends the party. This is a good way of getting people to feel excited and interested and it's a small thank you for coming to the party. It's lovely to be able to take something home for free. Who doesn't like a freebie or winning something? It will make your party more memorable.
