Swinging Art Deco Vintage Glamour

Last Saturday the Corbico Jewellery team had the pleasure of stepping back in time and into the the glamorous 1920s. The Bloomsbury Ballroom was the venue for this fantastic event and what a stunning venue it is! From the beautiful neo-classical exterior to the sumptuous art deco interior, it was the perfect setting for the Blind Tiger Speakeasy event presented by Time Out Live.

We had so much fun dressing up, as the dress code was strictly 1920s evening glamour. Luckily there are many good sites on line to do your research. One I particularly really like is glamourdaze.com. This little gem of a website is perfect if you are interested in vintage fashion and make-up and gives a really good historical view through archives and original images and articles.

We didn't want to go down the fancy dress route and decided to be as authentic as possible and adapt our clothing to suit the style of that era. I did however borrow a little evening bag from our Corbico vintage style range which complemented my outfit really well.

The evening was a great success. We were greeted by a live jazz band on arrival and as we were one of the first guests there, we had an uncluttered view of the beautiful ballroom in all its glory. It's hard not to be impressed by the size and the glamour of this room. As the evening progressed, and the guests started to fill the dance floor, we realised that we were lucky to have professional dancers in our midst and we would have been very happy watching them exhibit their swing moves all evening. The dancers were incredible, so quick and light on their feet. They made it look so easy, but unfortunately the Corbico team seem to have two left feet and left the dancing to the professionals. The entertainment provided was outstanding and we hope there is another event of this kind soon. We can thoroughly recommend it.
