It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Well, it seems like it was Christmas only last year! We have tried to ignore the Christmas decorations for sale in the shops since September and have selfishly walked past great gifts for loved ones, thinking that it was still quite some time till Father Christmas had to fetch the stockings from the attic. But as usual, a mere few weeks to go and it has suddenly dawned on me: it's Christmas soon and I have not even thought of presents, never mind bought any!
I am sure that I am not alone in this. Well, surely there are disorganised people like me all over the country who are so busy, that Christmas is pushed to the back of the mind, and squashed by all the hundreds of other things busy mums have to think of.
There are two things that can solve this dilema. And being part of the Corbico team means that I am able to help with both.
First, there is online shopping. I can relax at home whilst the dinner is cooking, cup of tea in one hand and leisurely browsing the internet to my hearts content, finding lovely presents for everyone that will be delivered to my door without even having to set foot into the traffic jam on the way to the shopping centre. Of course, Corbico Jewellery is one of the places on the net that offers a great selection of gifts and treats with the bonus of great customer service. We look after stressed people like me, because we know how it feels! Simples.
Second solution: There are some great Christmas markets and fairs popping up all over the place. If you have children, there is a good chance their school may have organised a Christmas fayre or market. It's a great opportunity to go along and support a good cause, whilst getting some lovely home-made gifts or items that are a bit different from those found on the High Street.
We have been busy booking some fairs before Christmas to spread some of our sparkle and are very happy to report that the first of our Christmas markets has been a success. We had our little stall of sparkles at the
Friends of the Phoenix Christmas Market in West Wickham and what a lovely day it was. Friends of the Phoenix is a charity for children with additional needs and disabilities and they fundraise by organising different events, one of which is the Christmas Market. So it was a great opportunity for us to exhibit our bling and sparkle and helping a good cause in the process.
It was a feast for the eyes, seeing fabulous stalls selling all types of Christmas decorations, home-made cakes, sweets (delicious, I can personally recommend them and I can tell you the little bags of goodies I bought hardly made it through our front door and they were all eaten and gone!), boutique home gifts, handmade scented candles, the list goes on...
We had our fabulous little sparkly stand in the midst of such gorgeousness and we felt really proud. Our bracelets were twinkling and sparkling, our bags and clutches got compliment after compliment and our scarves heard a lot of 'ooh's and 'ahh's. What was really lovely were all the children that were looking to buy Christmas presents for their mums. We sold an ever so pretty necklace to a young boy who knew as soon as he saw it: 'I'm getting this for my mum, she'll love it'. It was packaged in a lovely gift box and I put it in a little designer gift bag, and he looked as pleased as punch. Another little girl who was with her Grandma, was looking at our skull clutch bags and although the Grandma tried to convince her to buy the grey (as it goes with everything), this little lady knew what she wanted and insisted on getting the beautiful teal coloured one.
Good girl.
So all these lovely fairs and markets are great opportunities to shop and also great to support a good cause at the same time.
We hope to either see you in our shop online (don't forget that nice cup of tea) or we may see you at one of our events, as I'm sure we will be attending many more of those. We'll keep you posted!
