What is it with all the skulls? Everywhere we go we see items embellished with skulls: from bags, scarves, t-shirts, shoes and tights to earrings, necklaces, watches and rings. This was once the symbol of choice for bikers, rockers and... pirates!
Well, that was until Alexander McQueen's designs inspired a whole new fashion design movement. Skulls are now right on trend, and the original symbolism of fearlessness, inmortality and death has given way to a much more light-hearted look and use of the skull. And we must admit, who can resist a crystal encrusted skull on a beautiful clutch bag? All nice and sparkly? Not us!
